In the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, in San Francisco, Mr. Robinson persuasively presented an appellate brief and a motion in opposition to the Department of Justice’s effort to have his client’s appeal dismissed. Ed Robinson and Nancy Kardon successfully defended a marijuana distribution/ money laundering forfeiture case in the United States District Court, District of Nebraska. Mr. Robinson’s and Ms. Kardon’s client was facing a federal prison term of over ten years and money forfeiture of over $600,000. After a jury trial and extensive post-trial motions and briefings, Mr. Robinson’s and Ms. Kardon’s client was sentenced to only four years in federal prison and ordered to pay approximately $100,000.
In the United States District Court of California in San Diego, Mr. Robinson represented a defendant who was an attorney. This attorney was indicted in federal court in what was the largest prosecution of lawyers in United States history. Mr. Robinson’s client was charged with a violation of the RICO “racketeering” statute and multiple Mail Fraud counts. After a 13-week jury trial, Edward Robinson’s client was acquitted on all counts.

In the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco, in what is now a Published Opinion and the standard for an “entrapment” defense, Mr. Robinson successfully persuaded the Court of Appeals to reverse his client’s conviction for a federal sex offense. Mr. Robinson’s client was the victim of an FBI set up. After getting his client’s federal conviction dismissed, Mr. Robinson, using a Writ of Habeas Corpus, successfully attacked his client’s California state court conviction in Long Beach. All state and federal charges against the defendant were dismissed.
In the Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Robinson represented a medical doctor in a Medi-care fraud case wherein the doctor was accused of theft and fraud. After a two- week jury trial, Mr. Robinson’s client was acquitted.
Sex Offense/Child Exploitation/Internet Crimes
In the District of Utah, Mr. Robinson, in a federal sex offense case where his client was facing a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, successfully persuaded the United States Attorney’s Office to dismiss the indictment against his client.
In the Southern District of Texas, Mr. Robinson represented a client in a federal indictment charging Interstate Kidnapping. After vigorous pre-trial litigation, Mr. Robinson persuaded the United States Attorney to dismiss all federal counts against his client.
In Los Angeles Superior Court, Torrance Judicial District, Mr. Robinson persuaded the court in a bench trial to find his client “not guilty” by reason of insanity. Mr. Robinson’s client was facing life in prison.
Federal Weapons Charges
In the United States District Court in Los Angeles, Mr. Robinson represented a client charged with multiple weapons offenses. After a two-week jury trial, the jury was able to reach a verdict and the case was dismissed.
In the Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Robinson represented a client charged with serious sex-offenses. After a one-week jury trial, the jury found Mr. Robinson’s client not guilty on all counts.
For example, in Federal District Court in Los Angeles, Ms. Kardon represented a client charged with drug-trafficking and firearm possession as part of a complex wiretap investigation. She defied all odds by proving the innocence of her client who, if convicted, would have served a mandatory minimum 15-year prison sentence and possibly a life sentence.
