Edward Robinson is a founder and co-managing member of Robinson Kardon. He focuses his practice on criminal defense, in both state and federal courts, on behalf of clients who stand accused of white collar, corporate and general criminal conduct.
While Edward has worked extensively at both the state and federal level since starting his criminal defense practice in 1988, he has a rare and impressive portfolio of federal cases, having represented clients in hundreds of complex cases across the country, including California, Hawaii, New York, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Washington, Nebraska, Massachusetts, Florida, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Colorado, Georgia and Nevada. He has also appeared countless times in California State Courts on matters related to both serious felony charges and all types of misdemeanors.
Prior to forming Robinson Kardon with co-founder Nancy Kardon, Edward operated as a solo practitioner for almost 30 years. In that capacity, he has handled every aspect of case development, preparation and litigation on behalf of all manner of clients. From the pre-investigation stage, through pre-trial proceedings, and motion practice, as well as jury trials and on appeal in the California State Courts, the United States District Courts as well as the state and federal Courts of Appeal, Edward has had tremendous success on his clients’ behalf.
His relationships with prosecutors, court staff and judges have cemented his reputation as a powerful defense advocate and often contribute to favorable results for his clients, including reduced charges, dismissals, diversions, negotiated pleas and acquittals at trial. Additionally, his strong relationships with former prosecutors who now operate on the defense side, make him a frequent and trusted referral when conflicts or excessive fees prevent their representation of certain clients.
Edward began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in Riverside County. His time there prepared him to confront prosecutors by introducing him to the strategies and techniques they commonly uses to investigate and prosecute defendants.
Deeply entrenched within the criminal defense community at large, Edward is an active member of The California Association for Criminal Justice, The National Association for Criminal Defense Attorneys and the Criminal Justice Act Panel.
As a Certified Specialist in Criminal Law, Edward is admitted to practice in California before the California and United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeal for the 9th Circuit, and all four Federal Districts in the State of California.
